Working in partnership to help people in need

Get Healthy Rotherham has joined forces with Rotherham Foodbank to provide important services to help people’s health and wellbeing.

Rotherham Foodbank has been chosen by Parkwood Healthcare, who deliver Get Healthy Rotherham, as their chosen charitable cause. As a result of this partnership, both organisations now mutually support each other’s clients in order to provide an enhanced service.

Get Healthy Rotherham has a collection point at their new Hub at Rotherham Indoor Market, where people can make food donations to the Foodbank if they wish.  In addition, Get Healthy Rotherham Advisors can refer their clients, if they are in crisis, to the Foodbank if needed.

Everyday people in the UK, including Rotherham, can find themselves in a crisis situation where they will struggle to put food on the table or will simply go hungry. This can be for a range of reasons such as redundancy, low income, ill health or benefit changes. Rotherham Foodbank, which is based at Hope Church on Grove Road in Rotherham, provide three days’ nutritionally balanced, non-perishable emergency food and support to local people who have been referred to them in crisis.

Get Healthy Rotherham are also now based at the Foodbank every Tuesday and Thursday, and Rotherham Foodbank staff can also refer their service users and staff to Get Healthy Rotherham, if needed, for FREE lifestyle support such as smoking cessation, weight management and NHS Health Checks - which can all help service users make positive changes to live healthier lifestyles and help improve their circumstances.
