Join us in celebrating special smokefree anniversary this No Smoking Day!

On this year's No Smoking Day - Wednesday 11th March - we're celebrating 20 years of Stop Smoking Services in Rotherham.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, this year's local theme for No Smoking Day is 'We've not quit helping you quit!', highlighting how 20 years on Rotherham health services are still working together to help people stop smoking at different points in their lives, whether in hospital, before an operation, whilst pregnant or at other times.

To mark this year's No Smoking Day and 20th anniversary celebrations, Get Healthy Rotherham and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are holding a special event in the main entrance at Rotherham Hospital, from 10am - 2pm, on Wednesday 11th March.

Here there will be a special 'Pledge Tree' where people can make a pledge to stop smoking, either for themselves, on behalf of someone else, or in support of their local stop smoking service. Once they make a pledge and hang it on the tree they will have the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a health-related prize.

Staff from both organisations will also be on hand to explain more about the stop smoking programmes available, including Get Healthy Rotherham's smoking cessation programme for people aged over 18 and the Trust's specialist programme for stopping smoking in pregnancy.  Breathing Space and other health specialists will also be available to discuss how stopping smoking can help with the prevention and management of different health conditions.

If you're interested in stopping smoking please call us on 01709 718720. To refer to The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust's Smoking in Pregnancy service please call 01709 423729.
