Certificate of Partnership from Rotherham Foodbank

Here at Get Healthy Rotherham we were surprised and honoured to be recognised for our partnership work with Rotherham Foodbank, at a recent presentation event.

At the event, a Certificate of Partnership was presented to the service in recognition of our commitment and partnership with Hope Church Rotherham in serving the community.

Two years ago we joined forces with Rotherham Foodbank to provide important services to help people’s health and wellbeing. Since the beginning of the partnership both organisations have mutually supported each other’s clients in order to provide an enhanced service.

Some of our team have been based at the Foodbank on a regular basis to support their service users, and, since the pandemic began, have been providing additional support helping to source donations and deliver food parcels to the vulnerable. Rotherham Foodbank staff also refer their service users and staff to us if needed.

Rotherham Foodbank, which is based at Hope Church on Grove Road in Rotherham, provide three days’ nutritionally balanced, non-perishable emergency food and support to local people who have been referred to them in crisis.

Hope Church’s Associate Pastor, Stephen Prosser, manages Rotherham Foodbank and other community initiatives. He said:

“For the past two years we have been working closely with Get Healthy Rotherham to help our service users make positive changes to live healthier lifestyles and help improve their circumstances. In addition, the Get Healthy team really supported us as the pandemic hit, by providing on the ground support and assistance. As such their contribution to our charity and our work is greatly appreciated, both by ourselves and the local community.”
