Making small changes can make a difference

Losing weight when we are overweight has shown to be good for your health. Even 5 - 10% weight loss can have a positive impact and reduce your risk of developing serious diseases. But it can be difficult to know where to start, the best way to go about it or feel overwhelmed by the changes we want to make.

The NHS Better Health campaign advises us to make small changes and swaps that can have a real impact in the long term. Making small changes means you are more likely to keep them up in the long term compared to something which is very different from your usual habits and routine.

Small changes could be as simple as swapping sugary drinks for water, cutting sugar from your tea or parking a bit further away from your destination and walking the rest. Whether you want to lose weight or just be healthier, why not make one change each week to help you work towards your goal.
