Introducing solid foods

A new campaign has been launched to help parents to know how to go about introducing solid food to their baby. This is most commonly referred to as weaning or complementary feeding, and refers to the period that solid food is introduced, alongside breast milk or formula, at around 6 months of age.

This time can be very confusing for parents and, with so much advice available, it can be hard to know the best way to go about things.

From finding out when to start, how to go about it, what to feed them, how to do it safely and meal ideas and recipes, the Better Health Start for Life website is full of NHS endorsed advice to guide parents through their weaning journey.
