Stress Awareness Month - The 30 day challenge
Stress Awareness Month has been running since 1992. Its aim is to raise awareness of the causes of stress and what we can do to reduce stressful feelings and improve our mental health. Do you experience feelings of stress? What could you do to reduce these feelings and improve your mental wellbeing?
Why not take on the 30 day Challenge? This challenge encourages us to do one action for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing each day. By performing these each day for the whole month you will be turning actions into habits that will help you with feelings of stress in the long term.
Examples of actions you can take are:
Physical
Stretch your body.
Go for a walk.
Have a bath.
Mental
Create a to do list for the day to have a productive day.
Get in touch with a friend.
Do absolutely nothing for 2, 5 or even 10 minutes!
Emotional
Reflect on the positive qualities of those around you - and tell them.
Write down 3 things that made you smile today.
Start a gratitude journal - write down 5 things you are grateful for each day.
The Stress Management Society has put together a guide to give you ideas on what your Physical, Mental and Emotional actions could be on each day. By doing these actions each day you will be able to explore new ways to help you improve your mental wellbeing. What works for you?
Come back to our news pages over the next month to find more articles on stress and ideas on how to reduce these feelings.
